This release contains all the music written and recorded for the movie La moglie più bella (The most beautiful wife) directed in 1970 by Damiano Damiani and featuring Ornella Muti and Alessio Oriano. To capture all the essence of an impossible love, Ennio Morricone composed an extremely sad central theme for Edda Dell’Orso’s beautiful voice and orchestra. The soundtrack also includes pieces played on percussion instruments and dominated by the sound of the Jew’s harp (“Marranzano” or “Scacciapensieri”), like the dramatic theme introduced in the actual Main Titles (here track 2). This cd edition contains a totally unreleased track which will be appreciated by Morricone lovers all around the world.
