At the 96th Academy Awards, it was the first Japanese/Asian film ever to win the Best Visual Effects Award!

The film also won the Best Picture Award at the 47th Japan Academy Awards, as well as eight other top awards, the most of any film in that year's Academy Awards.

This film commemorates the 70th anniversary of "Godzilla," the milestone special effects monster movie created in Japan, and is the 30th live-action Godzilla film produced in Japan. Hit maker Takashi Yamazaki, who has produced numerous high-profile films including the "Always: Sunset on Third Street" series, "Eternal Zero" and "Parasite", directed, wrote the script and created the VFX for this film.

A previous original soundtrack has been a huge hit since its release in November 2023.

Unlike previous Godzilla music, the ambient content and the arrangements of songs by Akira Ifukube that respect Godzilla's music are outstanding!
